Dwyane Wade’s throwback transition jam (Video)
By John Buhler
Dwyane Wade goes coast to coast, parts a sea of Charlotte Hornets, and throws down a thunderous transition jam that felt like a throwback to 2006 Wade.
Dwyane Wade is still one incredible basketball player in the back-end of his prime with the Miami Heat.
The three-time NBA Champion with the Heat has had to fight his way through injuries these last couple of years, but he was able to channel his retro self from 2006 in his fantastic transition dunk versus the Charlotte Hornets in their first round series Wednesday night.
Would you look at Wade turning back the clock?
Late in the second quarter in the pivotal Game 5 versus the Hornets, Wade was on a mission to get the Miami crowd back in this game. While Wade certainly didn’t have numbers in the Heat’s fast break attempt, five Hornets to three Heat, he attacks the rim with great velocity for this terrific jam that got his teammates off the bench and American Airlines Arena rocking.
He seriously went by all five Hornets’ defenders in their clueless transition defense on that possession. It was great matador defense by three Hornets in the paint on Wade during that jam.
Wade has built a Hall of Fame career on his innate ability to attack the rim from the shooting guard position. He will play a huge role in the Heat’s 2016 NBA Playoffs run. Miami trailed Charlotte by two points at halftime in Game 5 at home. Can Wade continue to showcase his great play attacking the basket in the rest of this pivotal first-round game?
