Kansas City Royals

Cheslor Cuthbert and Nolan Watson to the Atlanta Braves for Nick Markakis

The Kansas City Royals may have a very small window where they can continue winning championships. Much of the core of their team will be a free agent after 2017 and 2018. They signed free agents like Joakim Soria and Ian Kennedy and kept Alex Gordon in the off-season, but one spot where you can see a weakness is in right field.

Jerrod Dyson and Paolo Orlando platooning may not be enough.

Enter Markakis, who would fit in well with the Royals. He will help keep the line moving in that offense and will make $11 million over the next couple of years. They could also put him anywhere in the lineup, top or bottom.

For the Braves, Cuthbert could come up right now and play in their infield. He may not hit a ton of homers, but he gets his share of doubles, but he can hit around .280.

Watson struggled in his first few starts in pro ball, but he’s just 19 years old and was the Royals first round selection last season. He fits with how they are building their stockpile of arms to use in the future.
