Blake Griffin’s replacement on the Los Angeles Clippers, Jeff Green, did his best Blake Griffin impression in the first half vs. the Portland Trail Blazers.

Everyone is giving up on the Los Angeles Clippers after injuries to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin ended their season prematurely. Paul’s broken hand and Griffin’s quad injury likely will prevent the Clippers from winning that elusive NBA championship, let alone advancing past the Blazers in the first round.

However, with those stars out, a door has opened for their replacements to step up and make a name for themselves.

Jeff Green replaced Griffin in the Clippers starting lineup and for a moment looked a lot like Griffin when he threw down this statue of liberty dunk.

That’s really where the comparisons to Griffin end for Green who had seven points, one rebound and one assist at halftime. But the Clippers took a five-point lead into the break with a 50-45 halftime score.

It is rather depressing watching this game, not because it isn’t a competitive one because it is, rather because it doesn’t have the two best players on either team healthy enough to suit up. Oh well, there’s always next year.

You can watch Green and the rest of the Clippers roster that hasn’t been decimated by injuries in the second half of their game against the Trail Blazers on NBA TV.
