NFL Draft: Laremy Tunsil being sued by stepfather over fight last July

Former Ole Miss star Laremy Tunsil, who will likely be a top five pick in the NFL draft, is being sued by his stepfather over a fight they had this summer.

In just over one day, Laremy Tunsil is going to be a very rich man. The former star offensive tackle for the Ole Miss Rebels, Tunsil is more than likely going to be a top five pick in the first round of Thursday’s NFL draft and should be in a pro starting lineup by the time the 2016 season kicks off.

At the same time, Tunsil is going to have to deal with an issue in court after a lawsuit was brought against him by his stepfather, Lindsay Miller. The suit comes after the two men got into an altercation this past July. Initially, both men pressed charges against each other before dropping them.

The Jackson (MS) Clarion-Ledger details Miller’s claims against his soon-to-be rich stepson:

"Miller’s new lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest and all costs associated with the suit because of “past, present, and future bodily injury, pain & suffering, severe emotional distress, medical costs, damage to reputation, and/or other types of damages that he has incurred (and will likely continue to incur).”"

Tunsil has previously said that he got into an altercation with Miller after the stepfather allegedly got physical with Tunsil’s mother. Miller said in the claim that the argument with Tunsil’s mother never was physical and that it had ended when Tunsil attacked him.

Miller has previously stated that the argument was about Tunsil’s reported interaction with agents during his time in college at Ole Miss. Tunsil was held out for the first half of the 2015 season by the Rebels while the NCAA investigated claims made against the star player.

Tunsil was found to have received some benefits and was suspended an additional game by the NCAA and made to pay back money for some of the goods he received. In 29 games played, Tunsil allowed just two sacks and is considered to be the top offensive lineman in this year’s NFL Draft.
