The Denver Broncos have selected Paxton Lynch with the No. 26 in the 2016 NFL Draft

After three stellar seasons under center for the Memphis Tigers at quarterback, Paxton Lynch is now a member of the National Football League. Lynch was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft Thursday.

Height: 6’7″

Weight: 244

40-yard dash: 4.86

Notable stat: Named 2014 Miami Beach Bowl MVP after scoring seven total touchdowns

Paxton Lynch arrived in Memphis after a standout high school career in the state of Florida. After a freshman season with some growing pains (nine touchdowns with 10 interceptions and just 2,000 yards passing), Lynch exploded on to the national scene as a sophomore.

In 2014, he threw for over 2,700 yards and 18 touchdowns, while rushing for 10 more scores. As a senior in 2015, Paxton Lynch was one of the most high profile quarterbacks in the country, particularly after leading the Tigers to an upset over than top 10 ranked Ole Miss.

For the year, Lycnh threw for 3,670 yards and 28 touchdowns to go along with just three interceptions the entire regular season. Paxton Lynch announced his intentions to turn pro shortly after the team’s Birmingham Bowl loss to the Auburn Tigers.
