Major League Baseball is a little bit slower today as many teams travel to get ready for their weekend series. There are four games this afternoon and four games tonight, though, giving us 16 teams to pick from for fantasy baseball action today.  If you need some help in your starting rotation there are some interesting options to consider picking up from the waiver wire in your standard league or using as value plays for DFS. To see my top 5 fantasy baseball streaming pitchers scroll through the following slides.

More from Arizona Diamondbacks

The way this daily post works is that I dig through the scheduled starts and select my top 5 that are available in over 50% of ESPN leagues.  I’ve included their ownership level in ESPN leagues in parentheses after their name at the top of each slide. These pitchers aren’t superstars that aren’t available in season-long leagues or cost a high salary in DFS fantasy baseball action, but I think they can step up and produce solid outings given their current form, opponent, and potential to put together solid stats. Each morning, you can find these “best available” starting pitchers on our FanSided fantasy baseball hub.

Yesterday, my top 5 fantasy baseball streaming pitchers stepped up and went a combined 3-1 with a no decision allowing 12 runs in 30.1 innings.  As a group they picked up 23 batters including an eight-strikeout win for my top pickup of the day yesterday, Steven Wright (pictured above) leading the way with seven shutout innings with eight punch outs and a win. I started this feature for this season 10 days ago and my first 50 picks have gone a combined 22-17 with a 4.23 ERA and a 1.352 WHIP.  I’ve picked up 7.75 K/9, and my numbers have been trending the right direction so far this week after a disastrous day of fantasy baseball streaming pitchers on Sunday..

If you want to discuss your fantasy baseball streaming pitchers, other waiver wire pickups, offer alternative options, or let me know how our fantasy baseball coverage can be more of a help to you, find me throughout the day @FansidedFantasy on Twitter. In the coming weeks as the NBA playoffs start to slow down, we’ll be able to expand our daily league fantasy baseball coverage, so stay tuned.

Let’s jump right into my top 5 Fantasy baseball streaming pitchers for this Thursday, April 28.
