Jacksonville Jaguars select Jalen Ramsey: Twitter reacts

Jalen Ramsey was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 5 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and Twitter had opinions

The Jacksonville Jaguars have essentially taken up resident for the past half-decade with a top-5 pick in the NFL Draft and the 2016 NFL Draft was no different as they came into Chicago with the fifth selection. However, the Jaguars were in a great position at that pick in a number of manners.

For one, the Jaguars came into the draft off a season where they showed legitimate improvement from years past as they started to really hit their strides with Blake Bortles—a past high draft pick—at quarterback. However, it was even more interesting considering that previous picks allowed a prospect many scouts called the best player in this draft class still on the board: defensive back Jalen Ramsey out of Florida State.

As you’d expect, the Jags were wise enough to realize that taking the Seminole was the only option and took the defensive back without hesitation at No. 5. Given the Jaguars’ ineptitude as a franchise and the fact that Ramsey fell that far to Jacksonville, there were some great reactions to be seen on Twitter.

Here’s what Twitter’s thoughts were about the Jaguars taking Jalen Ramsey with the No. 5 pick:

There’s definitely a mix of those who are all about the Jalen Ramsey pick for the Jaguars and those that are just here to make jokes about how bad Jacksonville has been. Ramsey is more than talented enough to help continue turning that around, though, which is why they took him at No. 5 in the draft.
