The San Diego Chargers reportedly won’t be drafting Notre Dame tackle Ronnie Stanley.

After the Rams and Eagles traded up to the top slots, it was clear that the draft would start at No. 3 overall and the San Diego Chargers. There has been a ton of mystery as to who they will pick, but with hours to go before they are placed on the clock, it appears the list is narrowing.

According to Alex Marvel from Fox Sports, the Chargers will not be drafting Ronnie Stanley with the third pick in the draft.

This isn’t the biggest surprise ever, but it seems to suggest that San Diego might not be set on an offensive prospect. They need pass protection for Philip Rivers, but having a guy like Stanley slip in the draft could shake things up, as teams like Baltimore and San Francisco might see a player they want fall to them.

Laremy Tunsil is expected to drop in the draft too, but a run on offensive lineman is a dream scenario for teams like Tampa Bay and Miami that probably won’t happen. Still, the fact that the Chargers aren’t going to draft Stanley is an interesting development that might have a ripple effect down the order of the Top 10.
