These are the five worst draft picks in the history of the San Francisco 49ers.

Over the history of the San Francisco 49ers, the team has drafted some of the most legendary players to ever play the game. In fact, the 49ers drafting was so good at one point, that it led to five Super Bowls. In the late 2000’s and beginning of the next decade, their drafting helped lead to a Super Bowl trip and three consecutive NFC Championship Games.

Despite the 49ers having luck finding superstars in their franchise’s illustrious history, they also have whiffed on plenty of picks and selected players to their roster that were just downright terrible and rarely saw the field as a result. Poor drafting really did the 49ers after legendary players retired or left the roster, which led to losing seasons.

The 49ers drafted players that they thought had high upside, but just didn’t have the skill level or knowledge level to play football at the highest level. They have drafted busts that excelled in college, but couldn’t translate their skills to the professional level.

With plenty of great drafts to fondly remember, but also plenty of terrible ones to try and forget, these are the five worst draft picks in the history of the 49ers.
