3. Rashaun Woods

After Terrell Owens filled the superstar wide receiver shoes after Jerry Rice’s career with the San Francisco 49ers came to an end, the 49ers were hoping they could find someone that could take over for Owens, when he left for the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2004, the 49ers invested a first-round pick in wide receiver Rashaun Woods. Woods was seen as the receiver that was going to come in and light the NFL on fire just like Owens had done before him and Rice before that. However, Woods was anything but a superstar.

In fact, he wasn’t even good enough to be considered a below average professional football player. He was the epitome of terrible and the 49ers quickly realized that he was a colossal bust and wasn’t destined for a long future in the NFL at all.

He couldn’t stay healthy at all for his two seasons with the 49ers and when he was on the field, he didn’t produce either. He finished with seven career receptions and one touchdown. For reference, Owens and Rice had about 38,000 more receiving yards combined than Woods did.

He will forever be remembered as one of the worst picks in the history of the 49ers.
