A look at when the 2016 NFL Draft starts on all three days
Before Thursday and Round 1 of the 2016 NFL Draft ever got here, things were getting wild around the league. With the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles making huge trades to move up in the first round to occupy the first two picks, it’s now assumed that quarterbacks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz will go off the board first.
However, the interesting part about both teams trading up and the fact that Goff and Wentz are expected to be the first two players selected is the fact that they aren’t widely considered to be the two best overall players in the 2016 NFL Draft class.
When you talk about the players that have everyone buzzing not just because of where they’ll be taken, but because of their talent and how they translate to the NFL, guys like offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive back Jalen Ramsey undoubtedly come to mind, as does an explosive and polarizing running back like Ezekiel Elliott.
Interestingly enough, perhaps the most talented player in the draft is someone who could foreseeably fall out of the first round. Former Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche is insanely gifted as a football player, but character concerns and off-field troubles have ultimate caused his draft stock to take a hit. As such, whichever team takes a gamble on him could be getting a superstar or a headache.
With all of this drama set for the 2016 NFL Draft, fans of every team won’t want to miss Round 1 on Thursday, Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, or the final four rounds on Saturday.
