3. Colby Lewis-Texas Rangers (6.1%)

Lewis and the Rangers are welcoming in the Angels from LA tonight in an AL West matchup.  While I’d love to recommend Hector Santiago again, he’s too owned for the parameter’s of this post, so instead I’ll go with Lewis of the Rangers who has looked sharp in his four outings this season.

Lewis has pitched exactly six innings in each of those outings with only one being considered not a “quality start” when he allowed four runs to the Orioles. He is only 1-0 despite his success and comes into tonight’s start with a 3.38 ERA after holding the red-hot White Sox to just one run on six hits in six innings his last time out.  Lewis doesn’t fill up the strikeout category, but he has been reliable in the early part of the season.

Lewis knows the Angels very well having faced them more than any other team over the last three years.  Unfortunately for the Rangers and his fantasy owners, Lewis hasn’t fared well against them  going a combined 2-7 in his ten starts against them with an ugly 9.06 ERA.  Hopefully he can turn that split around tonight and his recent form would indicate he has a shot at another strong outing tonight.
