Johnny Manziel: You act like what I’m doing is something new

Johnny Manziel defended his recently publicized partying, behavior by saying that it’s always been this way

If you ask anyone that’s been loosely following the NFL career of Johnny Manziel after the Cleveland Browns used the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft to select the Texas A&M product, they’d tell you it’s been a series of erratic, poor decisions by the quarterback that ultimately led to his release at the start of 2016. Now a free agent, Manziel is still under fire as he’s been seen out partying more than ever and looking in not the greatest shape.

One day removed from pictures circulating of Manziel sitting alone at a bar watching the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the enigmatic quarterback took to Twitter to essentially defend his actions. He did so by essentially saying that fans and the media shouldn’t expect anything different from him because he’s always been the same:

Thankfully he didn’t end his comments on that note as he did send another tweet to admit that he’s made mistakes and to thank the people in his life that have stuck with and supported him along the tempestuous journey:

These comments really just encapsulate the picture of Johnny Manziel since he entered the NFL. Even when he’s ultimately not trying to say something entirely wrong, he does so in the completely wrong manner that ultimately make him look worse in the process. That’s what admitting your mistakes after justifying unprofessional behavior off the field equates to.

Hopefully things turn around for him sooner rather than later; he’s too unique of a football player and talent to be done at 23 years old because he can’t keep it together off the gridiron.
