The Michigan Wolverines, now that the NCAA has reinstated satellite camps, will hold one in Atlanta with a SEC school that was outspoken against them.
In the world of college football world, the concept of satellite camps has been just as controversial as the beginnings of the forward pass. While the Michigan Wolverines and other schools led the way in holding these events (allowing their coaches and programs to get exposure in other areas), schools in the SEC and ACC led the protest against such events.
The NCAA took notice and brought it up for a vote with its member conferences, with all of the Power Five leagues but the Big Ten voting to eliminate such camps. The governing body reversed course this week and allowed for the camps (some of which provide both football training and life lessons) to continue.
Of course, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t waste a moment in his continuing mission to troll the heck out of the SEC. The Wolverines and their coaching staff will hold a satellite camps this summer not just in the conference’s backyard … but with one of its member schools:

Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart, who had recently criticized such camps, has not seemed to pull a 180-degree move in the other direction when speaking a week ago at an event, accroding to DawgNation.com:
"That whole thing got so overblown because he (Harbaugh) and I, he and staff members from his staff had communicated. That’s a big deal to the media, big deal to you guys. But in the coaching profession we’re a bit more light-hearted about it."
Harbaugh and the Wolverines held part of their spring football camp in Florida this past March and have said they are open to making a return to the Southeast for camps and other events. The plan has worked for the Wolverines, who signed 17 players from the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions (home of the SEC and ACC) in their 2016 recruiting class.
