It appears as if Luke Walton will indeed be the next head coach of the Lakers
Well, the Los Angeles Lakers will have their next head coach and it’s someone that we all expected it might be. According to Howard Beck over at Bleacher Report, Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton will indeed be filling that role.
The Lakers fired Byron Scott recently, and it’s really no surprise as to why seeing as he just never clicked with the team and the young talent that is currently on the roster. He refused to play some of those young stars this season and it was inevitable that he’d be gone.
But as for Walton, he really made a name for himself on the open market with the way that he took over the Warriors in the absence of Steve Kerr. He was the coach to begin the season and he did a masterful job in leading this team on what would be a historical run and 73 wins. He was 39-4 as the interim head coach of the Warriors. Many didn’t think that he’d be returning to the Warriors next season and he will indeed not be.
Now, he will go back to the organization he played for for so many years to see if he can get that ship turned around.
