The Oregon Ducks take it way back with their uniform concept for their spring game on April 30th by wearing jerseys inspired from their 1916 season.

Nobody does college football jerseys quite like the Oregon Ducks do in the Pac-12. Yes, it helps that Nike founder Phil Knight is perhaps the most notable alum of the University of Oregon, but the Ducks continue to don some awesome uniform concepts over the last few years.

For their 2016 spring game being held at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, April 18th, the Ducks will wear jerseys that are inspired by their 1916 season. For throwing it WAY back, the Ducks will look incredible in their glorified scrimmage on Saturday in Eugene.

While the dark jersey concept offers no green whatsoever, it still looks fantastic. Instead of it saying “Ducks” across the chest, it says “Webfoots”. That is because the 1916 Oregon team was known as the Webfoots. The 1916 Webfoots went 7-0-1 under head coach Hugo Bezdek in the old Pacific Coast Conference, beating the Penn Quakers in the Rose Bowl.

The Oregon logo goes beyond the old U of O logo, looking like an interlocking horseshoe. The dark jersey looks reminiscent of something Pac-12 North rival California Golden Bears would wear. In a way, it does look like the throwback jerseys the NFL’s Green Bay Packers were from time to time.

The spring game throwback jersey features a tan helmet with the old Pacific Coast Conference decals, showing the three states in that conference (California, Oregon, Washington). On the shoulders is the Oregon fight song scripted in green and gold in parallel lines.

Even for a glorified spring practice, the Ducks will look great as they usually do with their fantastic 1916 throwback Webfoots jersey concepts.
