We have the full list of who the San Francisco 49ers selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Here is who general manager Trent Baalke selected:

  • Round 1 (7) – DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
  • Round 1 (28) – Joshua Garnett, OG, Stanford
  • Round 3 (68) – Will Redmond, CB, Mississippi State
  • Round 4 (133) – Rashard Robinson, CB, LSU
  • Round 5 (142) – Ronald Blair, DE, Appalachian State
  • Round 5 (145) – John Theus, OT, Georgia
  • Round 5 (174) – Fahn Cooper, OT, Mississippi
  • Round 6 (207) – Jeff Driskel, QB, Louisiana Tech
  • Round 6 (211) – Kelvin Taylor, RB, Florida
  • Round 6 (213) – Aaron Burbridge, WR, Michigan State
  • Round 7 (249) – Prince Charles Iworah, CB, Western Kentucky

The 49ers desperately need to rebuild the team after watching so much talent leave the building over the past few seasons. San Francisco was able to do that this draft, only having fewer picks than the Cleveland Browns.

San Francisco didn’t get the long-term quarterback it might have hoped for, but did land a very talented group including the seventh-overall pick in Buckner. Buckner will immediately come in and start on the defensive line, giving head coach Chip Kelly another quality player in the front seven.

The 49ers are still going to be the worst team in the NFC West on paper, but at least the roster will see some nice competition in training camp. The key is going to be whether Colin Kaepernick can finally put all of his skills together and become the quarterback so many believe he can be.
