NFL Draft 2016: Jacksonville Jaguars Day 3 selections

Looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars Day 3 selections in the 2016 NFL Draft

After picking in the top-5 for what feels like every year over the past half of a decade, the Jacksonville Jaguars showed last year that they may be closer to get out of that position than anyone could have expected. One of the key things they needed to do to keep improving, though, was to beef up their defense. Through the first two days of the NFL Draft, that’s exactly what the Jaguars have done.

Obviously they won the lottery with safety/cornerback Jalen Ramsey out of Florida State with their first round pick. They then maybe had the luckiest break of anyone in the draft as a player that many analysts had projected them to take at No. 5 in Round 1 fell to them in Round 2 with linebacker Myles Jack. They then added another great pick on that side of the ball with a high-upside edge rusher in Yannick Ngakoue out of Maryland.

On Day 3, it won’t be long before the Jaguars pick as they the No. 5 pick in Round 4 (No. 103 overall). There’s no Round 5 pick, but the Jags do have two Round 6 selections at No. 6 and 26 in the round (No. 181 and 201 overall). Their draft will then end with the fifth pick in the seventh and final round at the No. 226 overall pick.
