What TV channel is NHL Draft Lottery 2016 on?
By Josh Hill
The NHL Draft Lottery is tonight, but what TV channel is it on?
We’re in the thick of the NHL Playoffs, but there are a handful of teams that weren’t lucky enough to figure things out enough to make a run at a Cup. That’s why tonight’s NHL Draft Lottery is so important, as it could give a team the chance to start turning things around.
The Florida Panthers won the No. 1 pick a year ago and were in the playoffs this season, so anything is possible when you win the lottery.
Here’s a quick look at the odds each team has of getting the first overall pick as well as the lowest that they can possibly pick.
- Toronto Maple Leafs 20% (lowest they can draft is fourth)
- Edmonton Oilers 13.50% (lowest they can draft is fifth)
- Vancouver Canucks 11.50% (lowest they can draft is sixth)
- Columbus Blue Jackets 9.50% (lowest they can draft is seventh)
- Calgary Flames 8.50% (lowest they can draft is eighth)
- Arizona Coyotes 7.50% (lowest they can draft is ninth)
- Winnipeg Jets 6.50% (lowest they can draft is 10th)
- Buffalo Sabres 6.00% (lowest they can draft is 11th)
- Montreal Canadiens 5.00% (lowest they can draft is 12th)
- Colorado Avalanche 3.50% (lowest they can draft is 13th)
- New Jersey Devils 3.00% (lowest they can draft is 14th)
- Ottawa Senators 2.50% (lowest they can draft is 14th)
- Carolina Hurricanes 2.00% (lowest they can draft is 14th)
- Boston Bruins 1.00% (lowest they can draft is 14th
Obviously, this means the Edmonton Oilers will find a way to win the lottery and thusly screw up the next ten years of their franchise. That seems to be the cycle as they’re only slightly better than the turd of a basketball team in Philadelphia. That being said, the Leafs winning the first pick would be something that conspiracy theorists get super hot and bothered about, so it’s really a pick your poison type of situation as to what you want to be
