Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside completely exposes the mismatch he had on Charlotte Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin on a thunderous low post jam.

In the first quarter of Game 7 of the first round series between the No. 3 Miami Heat and the No. 6 Charlotte Hornets, Heat center Hassan Whiteside exploits a major mismatch in his favor by embarrassing Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin in the low post.

It was a great, heads-up play by the Heat offense against a strong Charlotte defense. Heat shooting guard Josh Richardson drives along the right side of the key, drawing two Hornets defenders. This allowed Richardson to find a massive mismatch with the smaller Lin having to cover the larger Whiteside in the low post.

Richard throws a leaping one-handed pass to Whiteside, whose obvious wingspan advantage allowed him to gather the awesome dime. Lin was completely off-balance trying to pick the ball off, but Whiteside’s obvious athleticism proved too strong on that possession for the Charlotte defense to prevent a highlight reel slam. Charlotte has to do a better job of switching on defense to not allow such obvious mismatches particularly in the front court.

Big man Frank Kaminsky had no chance at stopping the Whiteside dunk, as Lin really let his teammate out to dry by gambling on a failed steal attempt. That dunk pushed the Heat lead 19-13 at the 4:41 mark in the first quarter of the win or go home affair on Sunday afternoon at American Airlines Arena in Downtown Miami.
