Game 1 between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder was disappointing, to say the least. What was proclaimed to be a clash of two Western Conference titans turned out to be a showcase of poor defense from Oklahoma City and incredible play by the Spurs.
Oh well.
We did, however, received two Friendly Bounces on Saturday night.
Cameron Payne, who played more minutes last night than he did in the first round, was the first of the two given a Friendly Bounce. It occurred late, late in the first quarter. San Antonio had already built a 21 point lead (yes, 21), but Payne was hoping to surge a comeback (he didn’t).
Cam shot the ball from the corner with a charging Danny Green closing out. The ball hit the far side of the rim, careened off the top of the backboard and fell.

Kawhi’s was even stranger.
The Spurs superstar caught the ball in the mid-post with André Roberson guarding him. Leonard faced Roberson up, created space with a few jab steps and put up the jumper.
