NBA Playoffs: Who will Heat play in Round 2?
A look at who the Miami Heat will play in Round 2 of the 2016 NBA Playoffs after advancing
The Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets put on arguably the best series in the first round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs through the first six games. Subsequently, NBA fans were on the edge of their seats with anticipation for Game 7 in Miami to see what kind of drama would unfold. As it turns out, there was no drama at all.
Charlotte tried to hold their own in the first half, but the Heat kept coming and built a solid lead going into halftime. It wasn’t until the second half that the levy broke for the Hornets and Miami started running away with it in a major way. The home team was up by 30 points at the end of the third quarter and then just coasted to the monstrous victory over the Hornets to move on to the second round.
Now the question is what lies ahead for the Heat and who they’ll have to play next. They’ve already impressed everyone by playing this well without Chris Bosh, but who can they look to shock next?
The short answer is that we don’t quite know just yet. The Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors play Game 7 in their first round series on Sunday night and the winner of that game will face the Heat in the second round. For those visual learners, here’s a look at the updated 2016 NBA Playoffs bracket:
We’ll see what the Heat have ahead of them now, but it’s hard to not look at what they did in Game 7 and not think that they’re rolling in a big way right now.
