The Golden State Warriors cruised to a win in Game 1 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Without Stephen Curry on the floor, the Golden State Warriors have failed to miss a beat. With a talented Portland Trail Blazers team in town on Sunday, the Warriors had no issues dispatching of the Trail Blazers early in Game 1 of the second round of the playoffs.
The game was essentially over by the end of the first quarter, when the Warriors jumped out to a 20-point lead. Klay Thompson once again led the way for the Warriors and in this process of big Warriors wins without Curry, Thompson is continuing to seize the opportunity of letting the league know just how good he really is.
After a poor shooting first quarter, the Trail Blazers would begin to find their stroke in the second quarter behind a strong bench performance. It was an usual day for Damian Lillard, as he really struggled to get his shot to fall. In fact, if it wasn’t for the Trail Blazers’ bench, the lead for the Warriors would have been a lot greater.
In the third quarter, things started to get a little strange on the court. Anderson Varajeo would leg whip Gerald Henderson, who popped up and put his finger in Varajeo’s face. Minutes later, the two would chirp again and both would be ejected from the game.
At this point, the Trail Blazers were doing whatever they could to keep the game respectable, but an efficient performance and a triple-double from Draymond Green kept the foot on the pedal for the Warriors. They would close out Portland with no issues and would take Game 1 of the series.

Three Stars
3. Anderson Varajeo
Varajeo’s stats were nothing special on the day, but he hustled off the bench when the Warriors needed minutes out of him. He also helped in getting Gerald Henderson ejected, so he had a key performance for Golden State in ways they weren’t expecting.
2. Klay Thompson
Thompson paced the way with 37 points on the day. He continued to let his legend grow while Stephen Curry is out injured.
1. Draymond Green
Green was once again insanely efficient on the basketball court. He finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for his second playoff triple-double.
Betting Odds
The Warriors came into the game as 10-point favorites. With the win, the Warriors easily covered the spread.
