Cavaliers superstar LeBron James decided he didn’t want to grab a rebound, which led to a score by the Hawks.

The Cleveland Cavaliers jumped out to a huge lead against the Atlanta Hawks in the second half of Game 1 of the second round of the NBA Playoffs on Monday night, but then decided to take their foot off the pedal. This allowed the Hawks back into the game and it became a tight contest.

It was obvious the Cavaliers had let off the gas, when their best player, LeBron James, decided to bother not even making a rebound. After a missed shot by the Hawks, James just watched as a rebound bounced off the rim with no one around.

With James not taking advantage of the missed rebound, Hawks guard Kent Bazemore crashed the boards and passed to a driving Paul Millsap, who scored on a layup.

It was obviously not the tone the Cavaliers were looking to set on the floor, especially considering that they had already blown the lead by that point. The Hawks took full advantage of the fact and were able to get back in the game.

It’s rare to see a play like that from James.
