Leicester City have won the league and twitter is going mental.
Is this the greatest story in the history of English football? Perhaps only the wondrous run of Brian Clough with both Derby County and then Nottingham Forest can challenge the unpredictable, yet wonderful, nature of Leicester City’s title challenge. The Foxes have outfoxed everybody, beating out North London pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to lift the Premier League trophy.
A win at Old Trafford at the weekend would have been enough to secure a maiden Premier League title for Claudio Ranieri’s men, however, Manchester United were able to hold them to a 1-1 draw, putting the champagne on ice. The result, however, meant that Spurs, playing on Monday against Chelsea, needed a victory to keep their slim hopes of a title alive.
And it was all going swimmingly for Spurs with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min putting them 2-0 up. However, it true Chelsea fashion, Guus Hiddink and his hard working, industrious side, intent on spoiling the party for their London rivals, fought back to 2-2 with goals from an unlikely pair in Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard. Yes, you read that right. Eden Hazard has well and truly scored the goal that have given Leicester the title. Football truly is a beautiful game.
Here’s what the wonderful world of twitter says about the wonderful season of Leicester City.

Leicester City wasn't even in the Premier League two years ago. Seven years ago, they were in Football League One, the third-tier league.
