QB. Ole Miss. Chad Kelly. 24. player. 124.
Chad Kelly is the top 2017 quarterback prospect… if we aren’t counting underclassmen.

To this point, three quarterbacks are off the board, but each will be a junior in 2016, while Kelly will be completing his college eligibility during the upcoming season. The talented signal-caller threw for more than 4,000 yards in leading Ole Miss to a promising 2015 campaign, and Kelly connected on 31 touchdown passes compared to just 13 interceptions.

However, there are some knocks on Kelly, including some off-field concerns. He was dismissed from the Clemson football program in 2014, and Kelly was also arrested in December 2014 for an incident in Buffalo. Those issues would appear to be behind him, but Jim Kelly’s nephew still has plenty to prove at the college level before assuming the mantle of an NFL first round pick.

If we take a step back from the off-field stuff, though, Kelly looks quite appealing. He presents good size at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds with all of the arm talent necessary to compete at the NFL level, and Kelly even ran for 500 yards and double-digit touchdowns during his first year at the helm in Oxford.

This might be a stretch in the eyes of some folks who evaluate NFL prospects, but Chad Kelly has the tools if he can keep it on the rails for another full year.
