The New York Liberty receive Shoni Schimmel in a trade

The WNBA season is less than two weeks away, but there is some trading to be done.

On Monday morning, the New York Liberty announced that they had traded a 2017 second round draft pick to the Atlanta Dream for All-Star guard Shoni Schimmel.

Last season, Schimmel averaged 7.6 points per game, 3.2 assists per game and shot 38.3 percent from behind the arc, per WNBA.com.

Although the Dream missed the playoffs last season, Shoni helped lead them to the first seed in the East in 2014, but they were upset by the Chicago Sky in the first round. Schimmel led the team both in minutes per game and assists.

Schimmel joins All-Star center Tina Charles, all-time great Swin Cash and the Liberty, who made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season.
