Indians troll Tigers using Justin Verlander engagement to Kate Upton
By Jack Crosby
The Cleveland Indians had the best way to congratulate Justin Verlander on his engagement to Kate Upton
If you have not heard the news already, yes, Kate Upton is indeed off the market. She did recently get engaged to Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander, breaking the hearts of millions of men in the process. Still, since the engagement, the congratulations have been pouring in all over the place — even from the Cleveland Indians.
Although, their congratulations on Monday came with a little bit of a subtle jab.
Now for those who need context here, last Sunday as the Indians were taking on the Tigers, Detroit manager Brad Ausmus had the game stopped so the umpires could check Indians pitcher Bryan Shaw’s finger, only to discover that he was wearing a rubber band on his glove hand. Ausmus just wouldn’t let the issue go, however, even coming out of the dugout a second time to argue it. He was convinced that Shaw was running the ball on the ring through his glove.
Still, the Indians did offer up their congratulations, and ultimately in the end, what is it that we always say? — It’s the thought that counts, right?
