Apparently even if the Lakers get the No. 1 pick, they’re willing to deal it

This past season was literally the worst in history for the Los Angeles Lakers, leading many to believe that they’re going to be in rebuilding mode for a few more years to come. Well, that is unless they’re open to making some major moves, which apparently they are.

During his show “The Herd” on Monday, FOX’s Colin Cowherd noted that should this organization even land the No. 1 pick in the lottery for the NBA Draft, they’re more than willing to trade it away if that means it will make the team better sooner rather than later.

In actuality, this team has been in rebuilding mode for a little bit now, and they’re getting tired of it. In the process, they’ve seen the rise of the Los Angeles Clippers, who for decades were relegated to being nothing more than the little brother.

The fact of the matter is that this team does indeed want to make some major moves both on the trade market and in upcoming free agency as well. It’s no secret that they’re going to make a huge push for someone like Kevin Durant this summer when he’s free and more than likely Russell Westbrook next summer when he hits the market. Plus, they might make some surprise moves in free agency this summer as well.

Whatever the case ends up being, we’re going to be hitting some interesting times with the Lakers organization as they usher in the Luke Walton era.
