Meltdown Tuesday: Jets, NBA playoffs are rancid again
The New York Jets and NBA Playoffs are drawing our wrath once more.
Sometimes, you have no choice but to make fun of somebody. In this case, the New York Jets are in our sights. New York was 10-6 last year and had a good thing going with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Muhammad Wilkerson leading the way. Now? General manager Mike Maccagnan is blowing up that success in epic fashion.
New York gave the franchise tag to Wilkerson but is actively looking to trade him while Fitzpatrick remains a disgruntled free agent. Some say Fitzpatrick wants way too much money, but is there really such a thing when your other options are Geno Smith and Christian Hackenberg.
Back up the BRINKS truck, boys.
Then there are the NBA Playoffs, which are slowly killing us all. Save for the random game, the postseason has been a massive dud with non-competitive games between teams that don’t matter. Who wants to see another Portland Trail Blazers game this season? How about the Atlanta Hawks? Ugh.
Finally, we turn to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto won the NHL Draft Lottery and everyone north of the border is celebrating as though it were the Stanley Cup. Then again, it is nice to see the fine folks of Toronto finally celebrating during the NHL Playoffs. It has been 49 years since Toronto won the Stanley Cup, and frankly, this draft pick isn’t changing that anytime soon.
