Report: NBAPA wants to help resolve Chris Bosh, Miami Heat situation
According to a report, the NBAPA has requested a meeting with the Miami Heat to discuss Chris Bosh.
Chris Bosh has finally returned to the bench for the Miami Heat after dealing with an issue with blood clots for the second season in a row. However, this year the Heat are back in the playoffs and Chris Bosh wants to get back out on the floor and help his team try and win an NBA Championship.
The Heat meanwhile seem to be hesitant to putting Bosh on the floor right now and it’s led to a little bit of tension between the two sides. While the Heat’s main concern is the health of Bosh as it should be, Bosh feels he is ready to return to action and can be a major contributor toward their Eastern Conference run.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the NBA Players Association has requested a meeting with the Heat to try and resolve the situation between them and Bosh.
The NBAPA released a statement on Tuesday, which emphasized that their main priority is Bosh’s health.
"“Our top priority is Chris’ health and well-being. We have spoken with Chris and his agent, and have reached out to the Miami Heat. We are hopeful that all parties involved can meet as soon as possible to resolve the situation.”"
So while Bosh has enlisted the help of the NBAPA, it’s going to be interesting to see if the Heat are willing to put him out on the court yet. Obviously Bosh believes he’s ready to play and ultimately he knows his situation better than anyone else.
If he can get back on the court, it would be a great help to the Heat, as they get their All-Star power forward to return. At the same time, they might decide to continue the cautious approach.
