Charles Oakley calls out Charles Barkley over Cleveland hate
Charles Oakley called out Charles Barkley for talking smack about Cleveland and said the analyst ‘hides behind TNT’
Charles Barkley has been known to ruffle more than a few feathers on Inside the NBA as he’s quite the vocal on-air personality who isn’t afraid to share his opinions at all. On such opinion he’s shared is his disdain for the city of Cleveland, which he takes shots at relatively often. However, one of Cleveland’s toughest son and former NBA player Charles Oakley has had enough of it.
After the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Atlanta Hawks in emphatic fashion in Game 2 on Wednesday night, Charles Barkley certainly had some shots to again take at The Land. That’s when Oakley took to Twitter to essentially call out Barkley for saying such negative things about Oakley’s hometown. Oak then proceeded to say that Barkley “was never tough” and claim that he hides “behind TNT:”
Perhaps the funniest part of all of this is that Oakley’s location says that he’s in Atlanta where Inside the NBA is filmed. Someone set up this fight, pronto.
While Oakley’s point that Charles Barkley has never been tough may be a bit of a stretch considering Barkley was never one to back down from a fight with anyone, Oakley definitely isn’t the guy that you want to have against you. Oak’s toughness—and his off-kilter-ness—is pretty legendary in NBA circles and he’s not the guy you even want the threat of a tussle with hanging over your head, even if you’re Charles Barkley.
