Kentucky Derby 2016 betting odds: Morning line
By Jack Crosby
A look at the morning line odds for the 2016 Kentucky Derby on Saturday
We have waited nearly half the year here in 2016, but it’s finally almost time for the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby. This Saturday some of the best 3-year-old thoroughbreds in the world will be competing to win the first leg of the Triple Crown and one of the most coveted prizes in all of sports.
To get things kicked off on Wednesday, we were treated to the post position drawing, finding out where these 20 horses will be starting from in the gate. To a lot of people, gate position means a lot, but to more people the betting odds are what’s important.
That said, immediately after the post positions were drawn, the morning lines were released and you can see them below.

AE. Cherry Wine (126) Albarado/Romans 30-1
Obviously, as a lot of people had expected, the favorite is Nyquist with 3-1 odds, as he comes into the Kentucky Derby with an undefeated record. He will be the horse to beat, but we have seen a lot of upsets before in this race.
