With the Golden State Warriors up two games to none in their series with Portland, Steph Curry’s return isn’t on a set timetable, according to the team.
Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors took care of business yet again, this time coming back from double digits down in both the first half and the fourth quarter to get the 110-99 win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Game Two of their second round series in the NBA Playoffs.
It was also the third straight game that the Warriors were without the reigning MVP in the NBA, guard Steph Curry. After injuring his knee during Game 4 of the team’s first-round series against the Houston Rockets, Curry was told he would be out for an indefinite period of time, but could be reevaluated in two weeks.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, following Tuesday’s win, addressed Curry’s rehab but stopped short of giving a set date in which Curry would make his return:
"“He’s doing pretty well,” Kerr said Tuesday. “He’s going through the rehab process and he’s making the improvement that we are looking for, but he hasn’t been on the floor with the team at this point. Hopefully that will come, but I don’t know when, though.”"
Curry has said previously that he thought he would be able to make a return before the original two weeks evaluation time that was given. The Warriors next take the court for Game 3 of their series with Portland on Saturday, which would be one day short of two weeks since Curry’s injury.
Since Steph Curry went out of the lineup, the Warriors have won their last three playoff games by an average of nearly 19 points a game, leaving many to wonder if the team should keep Curry sidelined until the Western Conference Finals, assuming the Trail Blazers don’t come back and make it a series.
