Where is the 2015-16 Champions League Final?

A look at where the 2015-16 Champions League Final will be played

The 2015-16 Champions League now only has one match until it’s finally over and, without question, it’s been a wild ride to get to this point. Not only have the matches themselves been highly entertaining and full of incredible drama from the group stages all the way until now, but it’s also been shocking to see some of the results that have led to the Champions League Final.

For instance, many people would have surely expected both Barcelona and Bayern Munich to be the favorites to make it to the Champions League Final at the start of it all and rightfully so considering the talent, acumen, and level of success of the La Liga and Bundesliga sides, respectively. However, Atletico Madrid took care of both Barcelona and Bayern on their run through the Champions League.

Atletico first eliminated their fellow Spanish side in the Quarterfinals by an aggregate score of 3-2 in a side that sent ripples throughout Spain. Though Atletico have long been a quality side, seeing them oust Barcelona on the Champions League stage was a huge accomplishment.

The Spanish side then followed that up in the semifinals as they tied Bayern 2-2 on aggregate. However, Atletico scored in Germany in the second leg while Bayern couldn’t grab an away goal in Madrid, thus pushing Atletico forward.

Real Madrid then joined their in-city rivals as they advanced past Manchester City in their semifinal matchup to make it Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid set for the Champions League Final.

Now it’s all left for the Champions League Final where there is just one match at a neutral location. The question of course is what that neutral location is this year.

The 2015-16 Champions League Final will be played in Milan, Italy at the San Siro stadium on May 28, 2016.
