Cam Newton tries to freestyle rap (Video)

Move out of the way Drake, Cam Newton just dropped the hottest track yet this year.

Cam Newton isn’t just your standard NFL quarterback. In addition to throwing touchdowns, picking up chains, and being the face of his team, he also spits pure fire.

Actually, Cam Newton might not be that out of place. I mean, the Manning Brothers did release this song promoting DirecTV. Regardless, Newton’s lava-like track is absolutely a beauty to watch and listen.

In his song, he appears with what looks like two of his friends (he name drops his friend Cecil). And with lyrics like “I’m here with my boys/Don’t play me like we some toys” and “If you try me, you’ll be dealin’/With a headache or a black eye,” I think he might have made the song of the summer.

Even if rap isn’t your thing, you need to watch this video. It’s that good, I promise.

On the other hand, the Carolina Panthers need to be careful. If they continue to let Newton rap and make music, they might run the risk of him quitting the NFL to try making music full-time. However, his rap fans might be worried that if he does enter the rap game after his eventual NFL retirement his glory days will be passed him.

In the end, Newton just needs to do what makes him happy. Whether he is Cam Newton the passer, or Cam Newton the rapper, he has the potential to be elite at either endeavor.
