Cardale Jones jokes Rex Ryan is long lost dad

Cardale Jones already thinks the world of his new head coach Rex Ryan.

When the Buffalo Bills drafted quarterback Cardale Jones from Ohio State University in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, it raised quite a few eyebrows. Bills fans might be split on how they feel about Jones but Jones couldn’t be happier to be with the Bills. He already thinks the world of his new head coach Rex Ryan.

“[Rex] might be my long lost dad,” Jones said, via ESPN. “I’ve been looking for him 23 years and I found him.”

Considering all the other crazy things that Jones has said and tweeted, that might not even be in his top ten. Still, it’s good that he’s developing a relationship with Ryan already. Should Jones ever pan out and become a starting quarterback, that relationship with Ryan will be crucial. Jones is expected to push current Bills starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor for the starting job and he could be the future starter with Taylor’s future with the Bills in question.

It’s not surprising that the two like each other. Jones loves to talk without thinking too much about what he’s saying and Ryan has a tendency to do that as well. Watching that dynamic play out should be very interesting. Jones is certainly a Ryan guy considering how he talks. However, how he does on the field will determine just how much Ryan will love Jones.
