2. Los Angeles Dodgers

Wait, why would Tim Lincecum sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the hated rivals of the Giants? Because Lincecum (and all athletes for that matter) don’t particularly care about rivalries. They will usually sign with whoever will give them the most money. Lincecum has only so many bullets left in his chamber. If the Dodgers give him the most money and the best situation, he would happily sign with them. And the Dodgers should sign him.

The Dodgers rotation is currently a bit of a question mark once you look past Clayton Kershaw and Kenta Maeda. Alex Wood has been mediocre at best. While Brett Anderson, Hyun-Jin Ryu, and others are expected to come back, the Dodgers cannot reasonably expect that much from them, especially since Anderson and Ryu have a history of struggling to stay healthy. Lincecum could help stabilize their rotation until guys get healthy. Even if Anderson and Ryu come back healthy, Lincecum would be a nice addition to their bullpen.

It would be mighty weird to see Tim Lincecum in a Dodgers uniform. But loyalty in sports shouldn’t be expected. Lincecum would happily take the Dodgers’ money and pitch for them despite his history with the Giants.
