Atlanta Braves. 4. player. 17. . National League. East

The 2016 Atlanta Braves are a terrible baseball team. Atlanta boasts an atrocious 7-20 record through 27 games. Atlanta will lose well over 100 games in 2016 in what will be the final season to be played at 20-year-old Turner Field.

Atlanta’s front office has promised that the Braves

will contend

field a competitive team in 2017 when they break in brand-new SunTrust Park in the nearby Cumberland area of Cobb County, Georgia. One way that the front office can hold up their end of the bargain is to get a true superstar to pair with first baseman Freddie Freeman in the lineup by putting Trout in centerfield and batting leadoff.

The Braves have completely rebuilt their farm system and outside the Angels’ inner-city rival Dodgers have the best farm system in all of baseball. Atlanta has five players on MLB.com’s Top 100 prospects: shortstop Dansby Swanson (No. 6), left-handed pitcher Sean Newcomb (No. 18), shortstop Ozzie Albeis (No. 26), right-handed pitcher Aaron Blair (No. 52), and left-handed pitcher Kolby Allard (No. 85).

Swanson isn’t tradable as he is the pride and joy of Marietta, Georgia and Braves Country will lose their minds if the Golden Spikes Winner from Vanderbilt doesn’t get to play for his hometown Braves (Remember Adam Wainwright…).

Los Angeles could have buyers’ remorse and inquire about the main guy the Angels gave up to get shortstop Andrelton Simmons in Newcomb. Atlanta’s farm system is as deep as any in the game today. Certainly Atlanta could have something waiting in the wing that Los Angeles could like, but Atlanta isn’t competitive enough to land a player of Trout’s caliber realistically in 2016.
