The band Smash Mouth do not think that Marshawn Lynch is a future Hall of Famer.
Most of the NFL, including its fans, were rocked when Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement. Lynch made it official yesterday when the Seahawks placed him on the retirement list and Lynch began cleaning out his locker. The NFL honored Beast Mode for his wonderful career. The rock band Smash Mouth took exception to that.

Guess that they don’t think that Lynch is an All Star? It’s understandable that Smash Mouth, a band from California that are proud fans of the San Francisco 49ers, would have a severe disliking towards Lynch. Lynch tortured the 49ers during his tenure with the Seahawks. Seattle got two Super Bowl appearances out of Lynch’s tenure. They won one Super Bowl with him and they might have won back to back Super Bowls had head coach Pete Carroll made sure that Lynch got the ball at the one yard line.
Lynch ends his career with 9,112 career rushing yards with 1,979 receiving yards for a total of 11,091 yards from scrimmage. He also had 79 rushing touchdowns and nine receiving touchdowns over his career. Will Lynch find himself enshrined in Canton one day? Not if Smash Mouth can help it.
