A look at the information you’ll need to watch Canelo Alvarez take on Amir Khan Saturday night
It’s the first week of May, which means that it’s time for one of the premier boxing cards of the entire year. Saturday night, the man who has virtually become the face of the sport of boxing, Canelo Alvarez, will be stepping into the ring against Amir Khan.
This will be the first defense of his lineal middleweight championship since Alvarez won it in his last big fight against Miguel Cotto. That fight right there more or less solidified him as the best in the game, especially with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao retired for the time being. With a win on Saturday night, Canelo will look to further cement his legacy.
As for Khan, he’s taking quite the leap here for this fight. Not only is this probably the biggest fight of his outstanding career, but he’s jumping up two weight classes to help make it happen. He’s at a huge disadvantage to begin with, so he’ll have his work cut out for him if he wants to come away with the monumental upset.
Here’s a look at the complete fight card that you will see on Saturday night.
Canelo Alvarez | Amir Khan | Middleweight |
David Lemieux | Glen Tapia | Middleweight |
Frankie Gomez | Mauricio Herrera | Lightweight |
Patrick Teixeira | Curtis Stevens | Middleweight |
And of course, here is how you can watch it all take place live on Saturday night.
