NHL Playoffs: When is Stars vs. Blues Game 6?
Here is where you can find information on Game 6 between the Dallas Stars and the St. Louis Blues.
The Stars held the home ice advantage in Game 5 on Saturday, May 7 but were unable to hold that advantage for long.
Despite keeping a knotted game through the first period, with goals from Robby Fabbri for the Blues and Alex Goligoski for the Stars, Dallas allowed two more goals into their net in period two. Dmitrij Jaskin and Troy Brouwer outsmarted the Stars, capitalizing on St. Louis’ pressure and Dallas’ inability to effectively protect the house.
The Stars finished second in the league for home wins, but the St. Louis Blues have figured out the Stars’ tendencies and thus killed that record from continuing. Even being surrounded by die-hard Dallas fans couldn’t help the home team clinch a win on their own ice.
Facing the Blues while down two goals, the Stars failed to bring their best game to the ice. Play got sloppy, as multiple players—notably Vernon Fiddler—were thrown off their focus by getting into lazy, unnecessary penalties. With four minutes remaining in the game, Kari Lehtonen was pulled from the goal, as there was no way the Stars would pull through.
Paul Stastny took advantage of the empty net, scoring unassisted with just under two minutes left in regulation. His goal was the last of the game, bringing the Blues up to a 4-1 win. Now holding a 3-2 series lead over the Stars, St. Louis need only win one more game to move on to the next round.
The Blues will try to end the series with a win on Monday, May 9 at 8:00 PM ET in Game 6. The make-or-break game for the Stars will be aired on NBC Sports Network.
