According to a report, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside left with a cast on his leg after spraining it in Game 3.

The Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors both suffered huge injuries to their big men during Game 3 of the second round of the NBA Playoffs on Saturday. During the first half, Heat center Hassan Whiteside fell to the floor and landed awkwardly on the same leg that he had hurt in Game 1.

He would limp off the floor, as medical personnel quickly tended to him. The reports would trickle in that he sprained his knee and would not be able to return to the game. Valanciunas would leave in the third quarter with a sprained ankle.

Well it looks like the injury to Whiteside could be worse than feared. According to Ethan J. Skolnick, Whiteside was leaving the game with a cast around his leg after.

While it’s likely a precautionary move, any time a cast has to be put on a player’s leg, it is not likely to be good. Considering the Heat have a game again on Monday night, it really doesn’t seem likely that he would be able to get back out there soon.

If he can’t, it would be a devastating loss for the Heat when they need him most.
