Looking at who the Cavaliers will play in the Eastern Conference Finals

For the majority of the 2015-16 NBA season, it felt like a foregone conclusion that fans of the league would be seeing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2016 NBA Playoffs. However, the doubters and detractors started to pop up and become more frequent as the postseason drew closer and many wondered if the Cavaliers would be able to bring it all together in the end.

However, the Cavaliers have answered any questions about their team with authority throughout the playoffs. In Round 1, Cleveland absolutely ran through an inexperienced Detroit Pistons team in a four-game sweep. Though there were many who thought that the Atlanta Hawks would put up more of a fight in Round 2, that wasn’t the case as the Cavaliers kept trucking like a juggernaut and swept them as well. They’ve now won eight straight games coming into the Eastern Conference Finals.

Now the question that remains is just who will try and stop this storming giant that is the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

While we don’t know precisely which team will be the opponent of the Cavaliers in Round 3 and the East Finals, we do know that it will be either the Toronto Raptors or the Miami Heat. The Raptors have a 2-1 series lead over the Heat, but also just lost their best big man for the rest of the series. It’ll be one of those two teams playing Cleveland, but it’s far too early to tell which one.
