Bryce Harper got ejected and then cursed at the umpire while celebrating a walk-off win.

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is one of the most polarizing players in baseball. The biggest reason why he holds that title is because he’s not afraid to express his emotions, whether those emotions be positive or negative.

After getting ejected arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Brian Knight, the next batter Clint Robinson hit a walk-off home run. Harper pointed his finger at Knight and said a certain four letter word that starts with the letter “F”.

While the calls were ridiculous against Harper, this is one of the times that Harper’s tendency to express his emotions vividly wound up biting him in the butt. It’s likely that Harper could be suspended for his actions and losing a player like Harper for even one game would be horrible for the Nationals. For now, though, Harper can celebrate as his Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4.

Harper was coming off a frustrating series that saw him get walked 13 times in four games. It’s likely that his frustration came out in this tirade against Knight. Harper’s competitive drive and reliance on emotions is a gift and a curse. Monday night, it was a curse.
