NBA Playoffs: Warriors vs. Trail Blazers Game 4 recap, full highlights
Stephen Curry returned and the Golden State Warriors rallied to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers on the road in Game 4.
Stephen Curry finally returned to the floor on Wednesday night.
He didn’t start, but he eventually ended up making an impact for the Warriors late. However, things went about as expected to start early, as Curry was rusty and the Warriors couldn’t find their shot against the Trail Blazers.
Portland quickly got out to a huge lead in the first quarter and the game looked like it might be another blowout win for the Trail Blazers. However, with their two-time MVP back on the floor, the Warriors soon reeled in the Trail Blazers.
Curry wasn’t his usual self to begin with as expected. He missed his first 10 three-point field goal attempts, but that didn’t dissuade him at all from continuing to shoot. In fact, he kept at it and had to keep at it, as the guy in front of him, Shaun Livingston, would be ejected in the middle of the game.
Having some issues with referee Scott Foster, Livingston said some words to him and he was quickly ejected from the action. Meanwhile, Draymond Green was setting the tone on the defensive end for the Warriors and by the middle of the fourth quarter, he had seven blocks.
His biggest came when he blocked a shot, the ball got out to Curry, who then found an open Klay Thompson in the corner to give the Warriors the lead.
The Trail Blazers didn’t quit. Once again, Lillard was hitting big shot after big shot for Portland. As Lillard was making big shots late, Curry kept his team in it by finally getting his threes to fall. The two would have a shootout with each other on the floor with the game on the line.
With Portland up three late in the game, Curry would kick the ball out to Harrison Barnes, who proceeded to knock down the huge three and tie the game.
Neither Lillard or Curry could hit a shot to win the game for their team and the game would head to overtime.
In overtime, the two teams would continue to go back and forth with each other, but Curry finally found his shot and hit some huge threes to give his Warriors the momentum. He then proceeded to let the fans know that he is back.
Curry would hit another ridiculous three and Portland would be stunned, as the MVP had returned and won Game 4 for the Warriors.
