Stephen Curry was given his second consecutive NBA MVP trophy on Tuesday afternoon

Really, if there was one thing that we definitively knew about this NBA season all along as it played out, it was that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was going to come away with his second consecutive NBA MVP award. Well, that is indeed what took place.

On Tuesday, just one night after he made his return, Curry was given that second consecutive MVP award, and he also officially became the first unanimous winner of the coveted trophy.

"And it’s official… #KIAMVP https://t.co/3XqOcd5vq5— NBA TV (@NBATV) May 10, 2016"

Again, we all knew that this was going to take place. Aside from the Warriors having the best regular season in NBA history, Curry had one of the best individual seasons as well, shattering the record for three-pointers in a season once again in the process.

Throughout these playoffs, Curry has dealt with injury, but he returned to the court on Monday night against the Trail Blazers and he reminded us all why he is the best player in the league. While he got off to a slow start, he dropped 40 points, including 17 in the overtime period alone as he led the Warriors to another win.

Really, there was no one more deserving of the 2015-16 NBA MVP award.
