Mets fan honors Bartolo Colon’s home run with tattoo (Photo)

One New York Mets fan lived up to his word and ended up getting a tattoo to honor Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon’s first career home run.

Just about every person in this world has said something crazy about what they would get a tattoo of if something improbable happens. Most never follow through with it, mostly because said improbable moment doesn’t happen or they aren’t about following through on their word.

Well, one New York Mets fan that had relocated to San Diego reportedly said before the season that he would get a tattoo of Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon if Colon hit a home run this year.

Seeing as Colon is 42 years old, out of shape and can’t swing a bat, the odds of him finally hitting his first home run seemed like a safe bet for this Mets fan. So when Mets fan Matt Sassi went to the Mets and Padres game on Saturday night, little did he know that he would have to eat his words as Bartolo Colon hit probably the greatest home run in the history of the game.

No one would have expected Colon to hit the home run and no one would have blamed the fan if he decided to back out on his word since the whole event was crazy enough as is.

That wasn’t the case, as Sassi stood true to his word and got a half-sleeve of Bartolo Colon’s head on his arm in epic fashion. It’s a tattoo that he’ll remember for a lifetime and it will always be a good story to tell.

Good for him on living up to his word.
