In honor of Steph Curry winning the MVP, NBA 2K’s developers will give him a 99 overall rating for 30 hours.

Watching Steph Curry play this season was like watching a video game. He was practically automatic from 3-point range, and there was nothing opposing defenders could do to stop him. Even now, after missing more than two weeks of action and coming off the bench, he still won his team the game by scoring 40 points.

There’s no question that we are witnessing greatness, and NBA 2K believes that Curry’s rating in the game can’t be compared to how he plays in real life. That’s why, to celebrate his unanimous MVP, 2K is giving Curry the highest possible rating, and it will stay that way for 30 hours – a tribute to the number he wears.

In the teaser Under Armour made announcing the decision, they stated that “video-game Stephen will be as remarkable as real life Stephen.”

His 99 rating will make him the greatest shooter in the history of the game, which includes Michael Jordan who you can play as in 2K16. Hey, his unanimous MVP award was something that not even Jordan could accomplish, so you can hardly argue that he doesn’t deserve this as well.

Curry is, after all, the best shooter of all-time, so it’s good to see that 2K is giving him that same recognition. So grab your controllers and play as the literal cheat code that will be Steph Curry for the next 30 hours.
