The St. Louis Blues defeated the Dallas Stars in Game 7 and fans took to Twitter to express themselves.
The Dallas Stars deserve credit for getting this far through the series without center Tyler Seguin and with major difficulties in goal. However, the top-seeded Central Division team failed to live up to expectations, crumbling before the Blues on home ice.
Though St. Louis fans were thrilled to see their team reach the Western Conference final for the first time since 2001, most of the postgame attention went to the Stars, specifically the team’s deficiencies.
No doubt the Dallas offseason will involve major focus the blue line and the man in the crease. Kari Lehtonen, who started for Dallas in the first period, allowed three goals in eight shots and finished with a save percentage of .625. Antti Niemi, meanwhile, let in two goals in 10 shots on goal and had a .800 save percentage.

Dearest Annabelle, Morale is low. Our lines are broken. The casualties are many. I fear all is lost, but we fight on pic.twitter.com/AyD8TKkO4k

This is a team on the rise and this embarrassment is bad, but probably a good thing for them to stew on all summer.

How about the crowd in Dallas giving the #stars a strong ovation after a 6-1 loss in Game 7?

Dallas has done most things right but the two moves insta-questioned did not break their way. Goaltending, Russell deal both p bad.

Lot of money on the books for two good goalies. Good, not great, with no defensive structure in front of them. https://t.co/Wtgb22Ljm3

Think about how sick the Blackhawks had to have been to win a Stanley Cup with Antti Niemi in net.

The Blues, who are in the playoffs for the 40th time this year but have yet to win a Stanley Cup, will have home-ice advantage in the first game of the Western Conference finals. They will face either the Nashville Predators or the San Jose Sharks, who play in their own Game 7 Thursday, May 12 at 9:00 PM ET.
